Short description:

The National Institute of Aerospace Research "ELIE CARAFOLI" is the only company in Romania which develops a research activity on the whole cycle, starting from the main basic oriented research, going on with the applied research and finishing with the technological development and the implementation of the obtained production results.

The basic research developed by INCAS aims to increase the knowledge level in the aerospace and aeronautical fields, referring to the General Aerodynamics, Flight and Systems Dynamics, Aerospace Structures, Aeroelasticity, Resistance of Materials applicable in Aeronautics, Aerospace propelling systems.

Applied research-technological development which represents the specific of the institute refers to the achievement of aerospace technologies and materials; electronic mechanical-hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, experimental models in the aeronautical and aerospace fields, testing benches and installations, platforms and pilot stations, laboratory apparatus, devices and tools for the aeronautical industry.

Activity Fields and Organization Our Institute draws up computing programs and computing methodologies for the achieved testing benches and installations. A very important field of the research-development activity of our institute refers to: aeronautical and space plants restructuring, retrofit and up-grading. For an easier industrial implementation of our institute's research, in order to reach the expected parameters in a shorter time and more efficiently, we are carrying out associated activities that we can offer to our end-users. Such activities are:

-technical assistance ;

-consulting;

-scientific and technical support;

-testing performed on special facilities;

-issuing of quality certificates.

At the same time, our institute carries out studies referring to : strategies, prognosis, reliability, evaluation, aircraft assessment and airborne instruments.

Another important activity that INCAS currently performs refers to the aircraft personnel training. It consists in:

-organization and survey of diploma and doctorate activities;

-organization of national and international in the aircraft field;

-organization of airspace educational courses.
