Preparatory session for participation in EU Framework Program 7 2006-2013, as part of Eleventh International Conference “ Solar-Terrestrial Influences ”, November 23-25, 2005 , Sofia , Bulgaria

The Eleventh International Conference “Solar-Terrestrial Influences” will take place November 23-25, 2005 , Sofia , Bulgaria , Acad. G. Bonchev Str., Bl. 4, http://www.stil.bas.bg/STIL/11conf

The first day of the conference, November 23 rd 2005 , is especially dedicated to FP7 program. It is organized with the joint efforts of two FP6 funded projects – AeroSME ( http://www.aerosme.com ) and START ( http://start.stil.bas.bg ).

The objectives of this specific plenary session are:

• To provide information on the EU 7 Framework Programme for r esearch and funding, for A eronautics (which will be part of transport sub theme), Security and S pace and related sectors

• To provide information on EC Support Actions aimed at facilitating the SME participation in EU funded research projects ;

• To facilitate n etworking between the attendees and representatives of the EC and the European aeronautics, security and space and related sector s;

• Offer visibility of the aerospace capabilities in attending countries .

The strategic goal is to start an early preparation for active and long lasting participation in FP7, which will cover aeronautics, security and space and related fields . The session will be split in two main parts

• The first part focusing on EC Framework Programme 7 with presentations from various representatives of the European Commission DG Research ; Industrial Management Group 4; AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe ; Association of European Research Establishments in Aeronautics, European Network of Universities, etc. Lessons learned from participation in EC FP6 “Aeronautics and Space” thematic will be revealed (AeroSME; START; NAVOBS projects …);

• The second part is dedicated to presentations on capabilities of the various countries and institutions in Aeronautics, Security and Space, and related fields in order to increase their visibility and facilitate cooperation between participants for successful participation in FP7.

Submit the title of your presentation and short abstract on-line http://www.stil.bas.bg/11conf/forms/abs_sub.html and indicate the session title “FP7 preparatory session”. This will help us finalize the program of the FP7 session as soon as possible!

Note: For national or institutional representatives, who will make presentations during the first day, the registration fee for the conference, will be waved.

Participation with a presentation at the first day does not limit attendees in making presentation/s at the scientific sessions at the second and third days of the conference!

The scientific program on the second and the third days is dedicated to:

• Ionosphere and magnetosphere physics ;
•Low-and mid-atmosphere physics ;
• Remote sensing of the Earth and the atmosphere ;
•Space weather and impact on humans ;
•Space instrumentation and technologies ;
• Telemedicine/e-health and Space Medicine ;
•Other related topics
